A joint initiative between AGTL and Suthra Punjab combined employee training, large-scale cleaning activities and long-term waste management improvements to create a cleaner, better workplace for employees and residents.
Creating a safe, clean and welcoming workplace is a responsibility we all share. In line with this commitment, our DG Khan Plant recently partnered with Suthra Punjab, the Government of Punjab’s flagship cleanliness and waste management program, to improve workplace cleanliness and awareness across the site and surrounding residential areas.
Last week, the DG Khan Facilities and HSSE team hosted representatives from Suthra Punjab for a joint initiative that combined employee training with a large-scale cleaning exercise. As part of the activity, 40 members of AGTL’s cleaning team participated in awareness sessions focused on workplace hygiene, housekeeping standards and effective waste management practices.
Supported by specialized equipment, including a water bowser and brush-cleaning street vehicle, cleaning activities covered the area from the Training Centre to the Store Shed, as well as Staff Town, the plant’s main entrance corridor, Labor Colony, and the Senior and Junior Mess facilities and executive residences.
The collaboration has also delivered a lasting outcome. Dedicated waste collection bins have been agreed for both the plant premises and Staff Town, supporting a more structured approach to waste disposal and reinforcing AGTL’s broader sustainability objectives.
Initiatives like this highlight the value of working closely with external partners and local stakeholders to create cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environments for our employees and communities.
