Al-Ghazi Tractors Highlights Smarter Mechanization at PAC Agri-Connections Conference

How can Pakistan’s farmers get more out of their machines, their land, and their inputs? That was the question AGTL brought to the Pakistan Agricultural Coalition’s (PAC) Agri-Connections Conference & Expo 2026, held on 1 and 2 October at the Lahore Expo Centre.

The challenge

Opening our address on day one, our CEO Yasin Seker pointed to four pressures facing the sector: crop yields below regional benchmarks, rising food demand, higher input costs for smallholders, and the growing impact of climate change. Farmers today need more than affordable tractors, he said. They need higher productivity, machines that stay in the field longer, and smarter use of every input.

Where technology can help

Yasin highlighted two technologies ready to make a difference now. Telematics lets us spot machine faults early and plan servicing before breakdowns happen. Precision guidance cuts wasted passes across the field and makes seed, fertilizer, and chemical application more accurate. The key, he stressed, is to keep it practical: strengthen the basics first, test new technology through pilots, and scale up only once the benefits are proven.

Beyond the tractor

On day two, Yasin joined the panel “The Future of Technology in Agriculture,” where he called for Pakistan to move beyond conventional tractorization towards a complete system of machinery, precision tools, digital solutions, and better farmer access. With most farms in Pakistan on small holdings, he said rental, leasing, and mechanization-as-a-service models could put modern equipment within reach of many more farmers. No single player can close the gap alone, he added. It will take government, banks, manufacturers, technology providers, and farmers working together.

Our presence at the expo

AGTL was Platinum Sponsor of the event, organized in partnership with the Government of Punjab under the theme “Food Security and Agri-Investment in the Era of Climate Change,” with the World Bank, IFC, and FAO as strategic partners. Our stall showcased New Holland tractors to visitors from across the agricultural value chain. The sponsorship builds on AGTL joining PAC as a Patron in June 2026.
